Longyearbyen is surrounded by mountains raising from sea level to just above 1000 masl. Just a short approach will give us access to a great number of slopes and opportunities to get up to 1000 masl. On the map to the right, you can see the area we can pick from on a daytrip out from Longyearbyen.
Many of the mountains are granted with a breath-taking view of the surrounding landscape and the occasionally ice-covered fjords and some are in the snowmobile free area.
The guide meets you in the morning and you go together to our facilities for a briefing on weather, snow and avalanche conditions and we plan the day.
We will together make the plan for the day based upon the weather, snow, avalanche conditions and your experience. We never sell a certain mountain in advance because we always will try to find the best possible snow under safe conditions and suited to your wishes and abilities.
We do an equipment check before we head out for a fantastic experience in Svalbard’s wilderness.
The duration of the tour varies depending on the chosen route, but we plan for a full day.
Since we plan the trip together and that your experience and ability is guiding our plan for the day you don’t need much experience with ski touring, but you need to have normal good physical condition.
